Speaker: Melony Bryant, Minority & Small Business Advocate
Melony serves as a liaison between the minority and small business community for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Department of Strategic Direction . She has more than 20 years of workers’ compensation experience. She started her career with a premier third-party administrator in the actuarial department working as a rate analyst. Melony then moved into the client relations department as an account executive where she developed a unique ability to actively listen to and address Ohio employers’ workers’ compensation concerns.
As the Minority & Small Business Advocate, Melony assists minority and small businesses navigate through the Ohio workers’ compensation system. Receiving feedback from the minority and small employer community is just as important as employer education. BWC and Melony are committed to assist this vast group of employers to grow and strive in Ohio’s economy, acknowledging the fact that these employers have very limited resources.
Moderator: Bruce Walters, MS, CBA
Bruce is a Certified Business Advisor for the Ohio Small Business Development Center at Columbus State Community College, where he manages the intake process for new clients, and provides marketing, operations, and general advising services for established businesses. Bruce’s experience is predominately in insurance, human resources, entertainment, and non-profit administration. Bruce holds an Associate Degree in Art from City College of San Francisco, a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from the University of California Berkeley, and a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Communications from Franklin University.
