What is SBDC?

The SBDC is your number one small business resource in Central Ohio. We are staff by highly trained Certified Business Advisors who provide one-on-one, no cost, business advising and no or low cost business training. Regardless of the business stage you are in from start-up to decline, we have the knowledge, experience and resources to help you start, grow and sustain your small business. Learn more.

 

SBDC Services

We provide business advice, trainings and guidance to small businesses at any stage of your business.

At the SBDC we can assist you with the development of your business plan by guiding you through the process and critiquing the document to make it solid and ready to fulfill its purpose, but we do not write for you.

An online guide is available through the 1st Stop Business Connection.

For guidance from the SBDC please register for our BizStartNow series where information on how to start a business is offered as well as the resources available to you and your company.

 

Events

Got to the events tab on our website, then look for the class you are want to register, click on the class, scroll down and click on the red tab that says Register Here, follow the prompts with your Name, email, address and phone number.   You will receive an email confirmation.

The class you are registering is full at this time, if spots come available you will receive notification via email, to register for the open spot, you must be in the waitlist to get notification.

This series is designed to help you with all questions, information and resources you need to know to start a business, to register your business, to research, financing, law issues and tax information.  If you miss one class you are missing a third of the information that we provide that benefits your business endeavors.

For BizStartNow series you can attend the missed session at the following months series, please refer to our website for dates of sessions.

For WISE series please email your instructor for follow up information.

Absolutely, we encourage that all members attend but only require one member to be present.  Please make sure to register individually to the class.

Parking passes provided are valid for any student or employee spot on campus.  Please refer to campus map for parking lot closest to the building where class is provided.

Parking passes will be emailed to you by the end of business day, the day before your class is scheduled.   Parking pass is emailed only to those who register for the class.  Printed copies of the parking pass are available at sign in table for every class in case you can’t print it.

Business Funding

The SBDC is not a lending institution, but we have a solid relationship with most financial institutions in the area that can provide you with the financing  option that best fits your company’s needs.

Grants are available for a limited type of companies and or programs, they are not available to start all businesses.  Contact our office for traditional lending information.
